Made to measure condoms
Every penis is unique. It's not for nothing that condoms in different sizes have been around for a long time. Thin condoms or thick, long, short or extra-large condoms - until now it has sometimes been an expensive pleasure to choose the right type of condom. Because not every man has a standard penis.
What does the standard penis actually look like?
It is 14.48 cm long and 3.95 cm wide during erection; the length varies between 10 and 19 cm and the width between 3 and 5 cm. The shape of the penis is different for every man. About 20% of men would experience difficulty with a standard condom fitting securely.
A corresponding study was carried out in 2001 on 111 men between the ages of 18 and 19 and on a control group of 32 men between the ages of 40 and 68.
A well-fitting condom is easy to unroll between thumb and forefinger. And it's convenient. It doesn't bother. But if the condom doesn't fit - then the desire falls by the wayside, and sometimes even "safer sex" is out of the question, because:
- If the condom is too tight, it can tear more quickly.
- If the condom is too big, it will wrinkle and slip off easily.
That being said, who wants to use a condom that doesn't fit? It's uncomfortable. Many men then (unfortunately) prefer to leave it out right away...
But that doesn't have to be!
In order to be able to buy the right condom, the penis must be measured. There are measuring tapes that you can download from the Internet or penis measuring templates that you put on the penis while measuring the width on a ruler on the side. And so you know which condom size to use.
But what to do if the condom still doesn't fit? What if he doesn't have a standard penis?
After all, the brands My.Size, Mister Size, Loovara and others already offers 7 different condom sizes. Measured against the usual "variety" of "small / medium / large", this is a step in the right direction, albeit a small one. Here you can download a penis measuring tape; it explains how to measure and how to find the right size.
For everyone else who doesn't fit these condoms either, there are custom-made condoms from MyOne.
MyOne offers condoms in 12 widths and 14 lengths. The manufacturer currently has a total of more than 50 condom sizes. The size is determined by a measuring template. You can find your recommended condom size on the size chart. If his penis size is not on the chart, he must choose the closest suitable size.
Regarding the price: made-to-measure condoms are no more expensive than good standard condoms. And they are used in exactly the same way.
However, if you do not like to put your hand to it, you can still find standard condoms in different sizes from the two tables below. All listed varieties were measured by ourselves and can be sorted according to length, width and diameter:
